I was born in South Korea and obtained M.S. degree in materials engineering at The University of Tokyo in Japan and Ph.D. degree in materials science and engineering at Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST) in South Korea. During my Ph.D. program, I worked on the clarification of hot cracking behavior and its prevention in Ni-based superalloy during additive manufacturing.

I joined the Dunand research group in 2024 and continue doing research on additive manufacturing of Ni-based superalloys, accompanying the substituting Ni to Co and Fe.
