I was born in South Korea and obtained M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in materials science and engineering at Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST) in South Korea. During my Ph.D. program, I worked on development and characterization of W-free Co-based superalloys. I have been a guest researcher at Max-Planck-Institut für Eisenforschung for a year.

I joined the Dunand research group in 2021 and continue doing research on Co-based superalloys, especially in terms of additive manufacturing techniques.
