Chanun Suwanpreecha

I was born and raised in Bangkok, Thailand. I received a Bachelor’s of Engineering Degree in Production Engineering from King Mongkut's University of Technology Thonburi (KMUTT), Thailand in 2013. Afterward I received a scholarship from KMUTT as PhD candidate that gave me an opportunity to a do short-term PhD research at Northwestern University with Dunand research group from May 2017 to November 2017.My PhD thesis topic is Mechanical properties and microstructure of eutectic aluminum-nickel casting alloys with scandium additions. In my free time, I love to watch movies and series

In NU, I will focus on the precipitation hardening of eutectic aluminum-nickel casting alloys with scandium additions and its creep properties in order to find a way to develop aluminum alloys for high-temperature applications.
